A bunch of us have this bright idea to rent a houseboat on Lake Shasta sometime in mid to late August.
We're in the initial planning stages right now. Here's some houseboat costs:

I'm still waiting to hear back from the houseboat people as to additional costs such as gas, licenses, and fees. Ok, I've got some more info on costs. There are no additional licenses or fees associated with operating the houseboat. The rental place indicated that we should expect to pay between $30 and $50 per day for gas.
So far it looks like the people we have confirmed and/or tentative are Tom, Michael, Shannon, Hunter, Meredith, Terressa, and Jim.
What's this about pirates I hear? Arr, I'm glad ye asked matey! Tis a fine idea I'm thinkin' that we folk should occupy that thar houseboat in all our piratical type glory. We'll fly the jolly roger and make a fine show of it for the rubes. And if we should score some booty (free grog?) then we'll splice the mainbrace!
