GeekFest History

GeekFest first started in 1994 when a bunch of friends got together and connected their PC's via a LAN in order to play network computer games.

Our first GeekFest consisted of about 6 or 7 systems all running the early tryout version of Windows 95. Our network consisted of thinnet generously donated by my (Tom's) father.

Unfortunately, none of us had ever setup a LAN before and after much scratching of heads and gnashing of teeth (and a quick phone call to my [Tom's] father) it was discovered that terminators are imperative to a working coax network. :)
